Pre-wetted Salt

Pre-wetted gritting is where gritter trucks are fitted with tanks carrying brine solution which pre-wets the dry brown salt before it is spread. The brine is created by using white salt (such as that NGS uses and supplies) and loading it into saturators which create the brine solution needed for pre-wet gritting.

Advantages are that the salt usage can be reduced by about 25% it can be spread more evenly in the target areas. It can be applied at a faster application rate and the ant icing effect is more immediate as it does not need to turn from a solid to liquid. NGS are able to offer this service.
